Last year, you began your leadership journey by developing an understanding of what it means to be a leader, learning more about yourself, and gaining confidence in your leadership abilities. You were able to put your leadership skills into practice and make a contribution to rural North Carolina by participating in your summer internship. This year, we are expanding on your first-year experience with a more focused vision of creating positive change in rural North Carolina counties.
We encourage you to “step it up” this year by securing a summer internship or project in rural North Carolina that interests you. Think about how you can apply the leadership skills you acquired since you began the program to improve rural NC.
