The GLSLP staff says goodbye to one of their own (but not forever!)
After nine years of being involved with the Golden LEAF Scholars Leadership Program, our program assistant Jessica’s time has sadly come to an end. Jessica began her time with the program as a volunteer in 2011 and after graduating from UNC-Asheville in 2018, she was hired into her current role.
At her final conference this past January, Jessica was presented with an award of excellence for her dedication to the success and growth of the program. When asked about her time as the program assistant, Jessica commented “I’m incredibly grateful for the relationships I’ve made, both with my coworkers and scholars, past and present. Working with the GLSLP has taught me many necessary tools over the years that will serve me well moving forward.”
As Jessica prepares to receive her Master’s degree from the George Washington University, she has accepted the position of Editing Intern at Pace Communications in Greensboro, NC. She has, however, promised that she will continue to volunteer at conferences, so be sure to look for her!
We are sad to see Jessica go, but we wish her the best of luck in her future endeavors!
